Now In Techni-Colour!

Sven January 12th, 2010

When in doubt, get out the toys.

Four of us headed out to an abandoned building Jon had spotted out off Goto Road, hopeful that the structure we could see would offer some photographic inspiration.  Getting access took us on a bit of a circuitous route through chest-high grass, hoping we weren’t in snake territory.  However, what had looked like a reasonably whole building from afar proved to have collapsed in on itself.  Yet another rubble pile in a field of grass!  I took a few test shots, trying to make something from what we’d found, but anything reasonable eluded me.

Keen to take a shot that wasn’t ISO3200, I suggested we visit a local drain outfall for some brief and gratuitous light painting, having brought along a new toy.  Garish colours would once again be the order of the day!

Not far inside the outfall, I could hear the sound of Jon’s blood being drained by local mosquitoes in the creek outside, so time was a bit limited.  I did have enough time to amuse myself a bit with coloured light, though.

If nothing else, I got my share of exercise climbing up and down into pipes, having to go back to the camera for every exposure, then take position with lighting once more.

I really need to get that remote port fixed.
