Pool Party

I used to swim here, once upon a time! No swimming anymore, though – when I first disovered that the place was being demolished, the scoop had just broken through into the pool basin, and by the time I took photos, half the thing was gone.
I guess there’s probably not that much to an indoor pool, as far as demolition goes – it’s a big room with a tiled bit in the middle. No internal walls to speak of, no floors to worry about. Not that anyone seems to have worried overly much about what was inside: lane flags and deck chairs still sit by the pool, watching the dinosaur-like demolition jaw tear the place apart.
I’ve been past since I took these photos, and the place is now completely gone, and the site is being prepared for some other use. Another pool, maybe? There’s probably a sign sitting on the outside that would tell me, if I care to look next time I’m going past.

The photos look really good, it is pretty impressive that you managed to get in to take them whilst the building was being bulldozed.
I wonder what they will build in place of this pool?
You could do a follow up post with what happens next – this would be interesting to see.
