Okay, so this structure isn’t quite as dramatic as the cooling tower at the end of Brazil, but I like it. The intention was originally to work up some kind of dehumanised interrogation scene, but things took a more abstract turn.

Who knew it would be so hard to get a lighter to work in a gentle sea breeze? Thankfully, I did get it going, even if it did require some perseverence, and it worked fine until I dropped it into the sea…

I used to swim here, once upon a time! No swimming anymore, though – when I first disovered that the place was being demolished, the scoop had just broken through into the pool basin, and by the time I took photos, half the thing was gone.
