Cold Water Blues

After foolishly launching myself off a creek bank last weekend with nothing but a one-man inflatable boat between me and the icy water, I now appreciate just how cold the water is around here at this time of year. Fortunately, this evening I was better prepared for the water – but perhaps not prepared enough. Advance warning – long story ahead :)
Being the virtuous soul I am, I’d volunteered to take a trip across town to feed and water some birds for someone on holidays, and I thought I’d take the opportunity to bring the camera along. The moon was half-full and gradually descending, but provided a reasonable amount of light, so I thought I might visit one of the northside dams while I was in the area. First, though, I stopped by a familiar old brick stormwater drain.
